I wanted an ad-free, feels good to play, zachtronics like solitaire game that I could play on desktop, web, or mobile while listening to podcasts.
I couldn't find one, so I made it! (the playstore and steam version are on their way! If you'd be interested in a macOS or Linus version don't hesitate to comment so on the page !).
The pirate theme comes from the Skull King card game,
you could play this solitaire on your table if you have it!
If you're curious how the game is built you can get the Godot4.1 project files here :

Hi, I also really like your game and made a few friends of mine also addicted to it. :)
Sadly one recently had to switch to iOS and misses this game a lot. :(
Is there a way to make an iOS build of the game?
Hello, thanks for the kind comment.
It should be possible to make an iOS build with the project files on the git hub. You'd need to get godot version 4.2 (or 4.1.2 not 100% sure), download the project files, extract them in a folder, open the folder with godot as a project, go on the build section and select build project for iOS. Don't hesitate to ask if you need more help.
Hi, I really love pirate solitaire. You can see the Zachtronics influence.
Two things I wish you would address:
1. Needs a native linux build
2. Support for arbitrary resolution (as mentioned in another comment)
Ooh! I spotted the link to the godot files and was able to do a native linux build myself :D.
For anyone else who wants native Linux, you can download my build from https://antisol.org/PirateSolitaire1.3_linux.zip
Enjoy!
Can't start a new game.
Since last update you have to hold the + button to start a new game (so that you don't delete your current game on accident). Could also be if you're on phone because you are touching the screen on the edges while holding your phone, and so cancels all other touch inputs.
Lovely game, quite addictive :). Played bit more than 2000 times, great distraction during difficult times. In the end played for 'number of games solved in a row' ;) If you would ever develop it further, I would love a 'redo' button, to replay a deck that I could not solve (to see if it cán be). Thanks for developing and sharing on F-droid!
Hello ! Thanks for your kind comment :).
The feature you'd like is actually already implemented on f droid and browser ( I think ? i'm going to double check ) you can double tap on the new game button to bring up the Seed Edit panel which allows you to save or reload games based on their seed. It should be explained in the ? button. If not that means I haven't updated all versions :/.
Hi, no need to check, I just did and it's there. I should have RTFM 😏. Thanks for the kind pointer. Great feature, now I just háve to play more Pirate games again ;).
Hi. Great game! Is every layout solvable?_1683028051096467357
Hey, I'm glad you like it. That question has been asked on github previously, if you'd like to see the discussion. But the short of it is : I don't know. In classic FreeCell solitaire there are layouts that are clearly impossible, where every big cards are at the end of each stack, but being able to tell if a "normal" layout is solvable or not is a very, very complicated problem to solve.
Thanks! :-) I've solved every layout so far (except a couple which I'm not sure about, I lost them when closing and reopening the app), and was starting to suspect that only solvable layouts are generated.
I love this game, I have more than 1k won games in different platforms. Now I try to play in a way that I leave the more cards as possible on the table when making the last movement. In other words, having all the beasts buttons done and the least numeric discarted cards as possible. I think I got my record today
BTW it would be fantastic if we could use the entire screen, not just the 4:3 ratio.
Thank you for such fantastic game, how did you get to this idea?
It's really cool to hear someone say they love something you made, thank you.
The idea came to me when I was playing lots of Skull King, a card game with its own set, and thought about how would a solitaire for the set play. I've always been a sucker for mini games inside of other games, such as the gwent in Witcher 3, or more obscure, the dice game in pirate of the Caribbean at World's end the video game.
About the ratio, do you mean the black bands at each side or something else ?
Cool! Will check it out!
Yes, I mean that. It would be fantastic if we could use the whole screen area.
its ok
Hello Victor and friends of the game. This shouldn't be like that, should it? Haha, I solved one game without being able to get rid of the monster cards, because from 3 open pirate cards on you cannot do anything about the monsters anymore except putting them aside. You can never win such a round.
Screenshot taken playing version 1.3. It was taken after a fresh install from F-Droid. Most of the times I am able to work my way around this bug, but sometimes a game starts with 3 pirates open, and then it's already over.
By the way: The pirate card kept glowing and pushing the monster buttons doesn't have any effect except for the buttons itself glowing up for a short moment.
My best regards, congratulations for the game and thanks. It's a very fun game that I enjoy playing casually.
hello, thanks for your kind comment ^^.
I am not entirely sure about the scenario you described, but in your screenshot, it is possible to get rid of 2 pirates by selecting them after pressing the beast button.
When there are more than two pirates available and you press the beast button, you select one pirate (which is highlighted) and then a second pirate, and they're discarded.
If you don't want that pirate you can click on it again to un select it, or cancel the pirate selection all together by pressing the beast button again.
Hope it helps.
Haha 😆 nooo, I didn't know that. Well, thanks a lot for clarifying how to play the game 🤭 all that frustration finding my way to only ever have two pirates open... well then, increased difficulty level I put onto myself.
Thanks for your kind comment!
Also found it on F-Droid, I love this game! Thanks for making it, I'm currently at 130 wins and counting.
Originally found it from F-Droid. I've spent so many countless hours playing this. Kept me occupied through a visit at the hospital too.
Nice game! Huge fan of the Zachtronics solitaire games and this is a really fun variant that isn’t too hard, a pleasant level of difficulty for a quick phone game. I found it on F-Droid and was pleasantly surprised to find it an open source Godot project. Thanks for your efforts!
Edit: btw just read some of the devlog, in case you didn’t know 4.2 will support C# android builds if that is your language of choice:)
Thank you for your kind words, I'm very glad that you like the game !
I actually didn't know 4.2 would support C#, that's good to know. I didn't really talk about it in my devlog, but I had a lot of fun learning a new language, and it was much easier than I expected it to be.
Edit: also huge shoutout to ygringas, who helped me upload the game on f-droid. He's the working dev on Ravengate, which is the first Godot game uploaded on f-droid, I couldn't have done it without his help.
